Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Your PDF is read and converted in your browser, so the file never leaves your device. The page loads PDF.js, an open-source reader from Mozilla, to open the PDF.
Should I choose PNG or JPG?
PNG is lossless, so text and line art stay sharp, but the files are bigger. JPG makes smaller files and suits pages with photos.
What resolution should I pick?
Standard (150 dpi) suits screens and sharing. Use High (200 dpi) or Maximum (300 dpi) if you plan to print. Lower resolution gives smaller files.
How do I convert only some pages?
Type page numbers or ranges in the Pages box, for example 1-3, 5. Leave it empty to convert every page.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Not at the moment. Remove the password in the program that created the PDF, then try again.
Why is an image smaller than the resolution I chose?
Very large pages, such as posters, are scaled down so they fit within your browser's image size limits.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. A scanned PDF is made of page pictures, so each page converts normally.
Is there a limit on PDF size or page count?
There is no set limit, but the work happens on your device. Very large PDFs or maximum resolution on many pages can be slow, so try fewer pages at a time.
Can I turn images back into a PDF?
Yes. Use the image to PDF converter in our tools list.
Is the PDF to image converter free?
Yes. There is no signup, no watermark and no usage limit.
